c. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} 1001. 12th.March 1938. Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}9/N. Messrs.Wilmot-Breeden Ltd., Eastern Works, Camden Street, Birmingham.1. For the attention of C.L.Breeden.Esq., Dear Sir, Re: Experimental Door Locks. As arranged between yourself and Mr Robotham, we are sending you herewith coachbuilder's drawings of the front and rear doors of the body on which it is proposed to fit the experimental door locks, which you have promised to let us have. We understand that you have thought it possible to let us have one set in about three weeks from receipt of these drawings, and we would be glad to hear from you, whether this is still possible, as otherwise it will be necessary to defer this lock experiment to a later car. Actually we would like two sets of locks at least i.e. eight in all,for two complete cars. It will be noted that on the driver's door we have to ask for a remote control handle which is recessed into the door, but on the other doors the interior handles are on the lock spindle. The recessed handle is possible owing to the fact that there is a Fisher ventilating window which does not fall. We hope this information will be sufficient for you, but if not, will you kindly let us know. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. Car Project Office. | ||
