X1729 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Copy to Wcr. re Cadillac. I had a telephone call from Mr.Inskip about this car and gathered that our effort to import it in this country on triptyque to avoid paying duty was liable to lead to considerable trouble. The fact that we as a firm had purchased it from Cadillac's less a discount rather gives us away to start with. In view of all he said on the telephone, I decided to cut out this part of it and have it shipped in the ordinary way and pay duty on its importation into this country. I have now had a cable saying that it has been shipped on the "American Trader" sailing to-day, due in London the 23rd. We shall doubtless get advice from some shippers in regard to collection. I should like to try this car before it goes to Derby. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} | ||
