ORIGINAL SECRET. TO [REDACTED] FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} COPY TO [REDACTED] HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} SIDE LEVERS. SYNCHROMESH GEARBOX / 25.HP. We have previously sent you a scheme showing the modifications which seem necessary to the levers for the Synchromesh Gearbox on the 25.HP. This was N.Sch.3320. A day or so ago we sent to you a pencilled note to the effect that due to an oversight it was stated on that drawing that the levers drawn would be suitable for all cars. This should have read " For 'E' & 'F' Type only." We send herewith N.Sch.3388, showing a layout which we have made for the side levers. The brake lever is unaltered in the side view. The 10deg lean of the gear lever on N.Sch.3388, cannot be adhered to as the centre of the shaft have been moved back from the position shown on that scheme. As on our scheme for J.3. we suggest that we should used the set in top to the brake lever on all steerings, so enabling the gear lever to be moved out to 18.ins from the centre of the car in the case of "G" & "B" Steerings. This makes the lever more accessible and the accelerator pedal easier to reach. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} LID{A. J. Lidsey} | ||
