For the attention of Mr. Robotham. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby. Dear Sirs, Re Aeroplane Fuel Pump. We have devised a scheme for supplying fuel to the carburettors on aero engines, which comprises an engine operated pump, which may be in or on the fuel tank, and is operated by compressed air provided by an engine driven air compressor, which you will readily see overcomes the difficulties inherent in suction lift, and we think will definitely free machine design from certain limitations caused by the present method of supplying fuel to the carburettors. We have an apparatus working at another Engine Maker's factory which fulfils the scheme as expected, and neither they nor ourselves can so far find any "snags". | ||
