x4698. To Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from HDY. {William Hardy} HDY. {William Hardy} 1/HP.26.9.33. c. Wor. {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Da. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} By. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Shock Dampers. Herewith N. Sch. 3838 which shews independent concentric valves for trial on the shock damper. The existing bellows and casing are used without alterations, but the valve seat in the damper body is different from what we have had before. Provision is made for some damping on the two valves in case this is needed. Alternative springs are provided of different rating. E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} points out that there is a chance that the outer valve may cross wind and catch on the slots in the inner valve when returning to the shut position. A very slight radius on the inner edge of the outer valve may remedy this trouble if it occurs. HDY. {William Hardy} | ||
