We attach a card giving particulars of the spring cambers and the weights of this car without load. We are trying to get definite information as to the load usually carried but we believe it to be about three passengers when the car is in Town and occasionally six passengers, with perhaps light luggage, for Country runs.

From the information given in your memo we conclude that even with only three passengers on the car the springs are overloaded.

Will you please let us have your opinion as to the number of passengers and amount of luggage for which the [handwritten insert: present] springs should be suitable.

W.G.d. This appears to have an exceptionally heavy body on nearly 14 cwt. The springs required for the city given on attached card + passengers + light luggage would be 1200 lb front & rear side. 10 1/2 cwt Front springs - 2250 lb Rear new springs. 2400 lbs Rear springs. Present springs would only be suitable for 3 Passengers for Town work only. Stronger springs to be fitted?
