RE. RANGE OF FLOAT FEED CONTROL TO VARIOUS CARBURETTERS.

With reference to your WL2/2620, according to your report, the R.R.C.H. carburetter appears to have the maximum range. At the same time, it does not seem consistent with the results which we expect to obtain, and which we have specified and according to our records, the carburetters should work satisfactorily between 18" and 12".

It would rather appear that the level on this carburetter is lower than we specified, which you will see from our previous instructions is such that the carburetter should flood at 2 lbs. pressure when the lid{A. J. Lidsey} of the float feed is unscrewed one third to half.

How did they test the minimum? Could you let me have a table of the actual flow of petrol through the carburetters which was obtained under the various heads specified?

In view of the present requirements for existing machines on which the head of petrol is only 18" and no pressure feed is used, we cannot see how the other carburetters mentioned in your list can give the required flow to the engine.
