Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}3/LG25.1.28. X8730 To [REDACTED] c/c to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 25th. Jan. 1928. RE. BARKER SPORTS PHANTOM. After our experience with the 10,000 miles experimental sports car, we feel convinced that the only sure way of making a successful job of the Barker body in the time available will be to let them have the chassis for about a week. We understand from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} that he is prepared to allow them the xx chassis from Feb. 7th. to the 14th. It is proposed to lock the standard bonnet without louvres on to the chassis and this will never be opened, the actual bonnet will be sent down as a spare. In this way the only few special pieces on the car which might readily be observed by the customers will be positively hidden. We would again emphasize that our experience makes us feel very strongly that there is little hope of the P/W. programme being a success unless we can have this facility. Would you kindly let us know by return whether you agree. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
