Pressure-fed grease caps and lubricators, comparing the U.S.A. 'Alemite' system with samples from various UK suppliers.

X.4337 X.3598 PRESSURE FED GREASE CAPS AND LUBRICATORS. We have been endeavouring to obtain Lubricators and Grease Gun similar to the U.S.A. Alemite. We have received samples from Messrs. Rotherham, Coventry, E.H. Hill Ltd., Sheffield, and T.B. Andre Co.Ltd., London. None of the samples we have received are as good as the U.S.A. "Alemite". The advantages we find in the "Alemite" are as follows:- The lubricators are simple and adaptable. They are supplied to provide a straight connection, a right-angle connection or a connection at 45º. We find that we can, to advantage, use some of each of these types on our 40/50 chassis. The connection for the grease gun and lubricator is very simple, effective and grease-tight. It is possible to connect the grease gun to the greaser with one hand. This is a very great advantage, for instance, when a car is fitted with mudguards and wheels, it is a great help in getting at the lubricators at the rear end of the front springs. The proportions of the "Alemite" are nice. It is convenient to handle and a pressure of 500 lbs. can be applied without much effort. There is an arrangement in the cap of the grease gun so that there is no difficulty in entering the plunger when the gun is filled with grease. The "Alemite" we believe, would also be, by far, the cheapest. We shall have to get the price confirmed, but up contd:- | ||
