The difficulty of forcing grease through shackles with existing lubricators and a proposed solution.

contd. -2- we are unable to force the grease through the shackles by the present lubricators, as although we can force home the lubricator cap we find that most of it leaks past the thread and any air there may be in the oil passage is compressed so that when the lubricator cap is taken off the re-fill it practically fills itself by the return of the grease from the part which has been lubricated. In the initial oiliing of the car we feel that this can only be done satisfactorily by the use of a strong grease gun with a flange worked by a screw. EP.{G.
