S/W. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}11/KW4.11.38. Just a line to confirm that Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s car has developed a thump, which is noticeable at about 20 m.p.h., and we have deemed it advisable to have it investigated and rectified before giving any further demonstration runs on it. As soon as you can say when the car will be available again would you please let us know, but if possible by Monday morning so that we can confirm or otherwise the appointment that has been arranged for this car. I mentioned to you that probably Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}' car would serve instead, but I find that the appointment was because of the particular body fitted to Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s car, so we shall probably not need to use Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}' car after all for the Liverpool appointment. I hope you may find that the thump is something that is easily remedied, and that you will not need to keep the car very long. You will of course have assumed from my telephone call that the matter was urgent and that we were wanting you to arrange for the car to be worked on over the week-end, so as to have it available for us again at the earliest possible moment.
