| contd :- -2- (5) Burning of platinum points - battery ignition: desirability of some form of battery charge indicator. An improved seal for excluding oil vapour and better ventilation has been standardised. An ignition coil taking less current has been standardised. (6) Phantom clutch with regard to stopping and jaggering. New type of clutch incorporating spring back plate has been standardised. This should effect some improvement to both complaints. (7) Tappet knocks and general engine noises when idling. Solid tappet keys have been standardised which are considered an improvement. A modification to the cyl. barrel extension has been standardised. This reduces piston knocks. (8) Brake squeaks - 20 HP. and Phantom. We have no cure for this trouble. (9) Bijur lubrication. Nothing is being done. (10) Failure of petrol supply, filters or jet choking. The latest type of tank with the two filters should reduce this trouble. (11) Overheating inside Phantom - back and front. Recommendations as to the floorboard fitting and asbestos sheeting under the floorboards have been made. (12) Oil leaks from car when standing.
