Diff. Pinions. Bushes worn .006-.008 and scored in bore, also the bushes had worked forward .030 to .040. in pinions. Duplex Bearing. Hoffmann No. 350 C.D. One ball broken, all other balls and both tracks badly worn and pitted. Roller Bearing Hoff. 145. Rollers and outer track badly pitted. Signs of outer race revolving in centre case. Driving Shafts G.82645/6. S/ZNCR. Splines show hard bedding due to drivers; also worn on oil seal housing R.H. - .007, L.H. - .001. due to excessive heat. Nose Bearing. R.M.S.9. One roller chipped and rollers pitted. Outer race badly pitted in one place on track. probably due to pinion bearing failure Pinion Thrust Bearing G.83388. Hoff. 3 M.D.J.T.35. - Fitted prior to tests on overdrive gearbox, and is the fifth thrust bearing to be fitted to above axle. One ball broken and five others worn badly, also tracks worn very badly. Oil Retainer G.81143. Badly worn due to bearing failure. & excessive heat Thrust Bearing Housing. Damaged in bore due to bearing failure. Driving Flange. Worn due to oil seal. failing and excessive heat continued. | ||
