EFC/T4.9.19. WINDING OF TRANSFORMER FOR PRODUCTION TESTING OF CONDENSERS. The transformer is to be wound as an auto-transformer, that is to say, one continuous winding, but with tappings giving 110, 220, 350, 400 and 450 volts according to the scheme below:- [DIAGRAM OF A CONTINUOUS COIL WITH TAPPINGS] Coil Sections: A, A, B, C, C Voltage Differences between taps: 110, 110, 130, 50, 50 Voltage at taps: 0, 110, 220, 350, 400, 450 VOLTS Each A coil is to consist of 440 turns of 21 gauge (.032") D.C.C. wire. B coil is to consist of 520 turns of 21 gauge / D.C.C. wire, and the two C coils are/to consist of 200 turns of 22 1/4 gauge (.026") D.C.C. wire. The 6 Terminals are to be conveniently arranged, three on each side of the transformer. The actual details of the insulation we will leave to your winder. EFC.
