We have got it agreed to that the Firm should write to the Bijur Co. in U.S. and inform them that we are proposing to adopt their type of Bendix and also give them particulars of our arrangement of starter motor in order that they can criticise our scheme and let us know whether there is any part about it which, in their opinion, is likely to give trouble.

We think it would be an excellent thing if you get this note in time, for you to call on the Bijur people and obtain from them all possible information in connection with this arrangement.

The points we wish to know are -
1. What slack they recommend in the pinion on the shaft.
2. What chamfer angle do they recommend on the teeth of the pinion and the flywheel ring.
3. What is the adjustment for the clutch and do they consider we ought to alter it for our engine.

We would also like to know what are the weaknesses in the scheme, and which is likely to be the first part to go wrong.

If EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} has left, we should be greatly obliged if
