W/S. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} from Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} c. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. Y6116 Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/1/ME.27.7.36. POST. 28 JUL 1936 RECEIVED RE: HEAD LAMPS. - Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}12/D.24.7.36. The latest type of head lamp we are fitting to the 25/30-HP, "Bentley" and P.III. chassis is P.100.R. It embodies:- (a) Bulb mounted on rear of reflector. (b) Modified front tripod. (c) Modified wiring. as compared with the P.100 we have been fitting until recently. Your remarks regarding the obsolete nature of this P.100.R. lamp in design and appearance are noted, and we will take up the question with Messrs. Lucas and see if they can put forward a lamp more on the lines of the French Marchal. At the same time, this question of lamp design is a matter of opinion, and whilst certain clients probably prefer the "Marchal" type, we understand others have expressed themselves as highly pleased with the P.100.R. Certainly, as far as the P.100.R. lamp is concerned, its light giving properties are excellent. I have already tackled Messrs. Lucas to reserve the P.100.R. lamp exclusively to this Company, and Mr. Oliver Lucas has provisionally agreed. ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
