From the Rolls-Royce experimental archive: a quarter of a million communications from Rolls-Royce, 1906 to 1960's. Documents from the Sir Henry Royce Memorial Foundation (SHRMF).
Page 3 of a report comparing the performance of different coils at various temperatures, with a recommendation for further testing.

The average current taken by the primaries of the
coils at 12 volts when hot was as follows :-

TR.{Capt. F. W. Turner - Finance}1 1.15 amperes.
TS.6. 1.115 "
TR.{Capt. F. W. Turner - Finance}5 1.15 "
4353 1.26 "

It will be seen that the redmanol encased coils in
th both cases gave better results than the stabalite at all
four temperatures 77°, 82°, 87° and 100°C, and it is
suggested that they should be given further thrashing tests on
a chassis in a thoroughly hot condition.
