General examination underneath the car. (continued)

Spring holding body to sub frame have remained O.K.
The rubber packing at rear end of sub frame has broken in two where it is bent at right angle. The wood packings have almost worked out.
The design of this requires attention.
Cross members and frame ties are all in good condition.

Front wings.

Stiffened wing supports.

These have remained O.K. and wings have remained in good condition.
The front of the body whips considerably and skuttle is considerably hitting the dashboard side ways.
The doors and windows of body have started to rattle.
The rear wings and running boards are O.K. It has been necessary to fit two new bolts to the front of O.S. of running board these having broken.
The "Bosch" windscreen wipper is too noisy and knocks badly. The life of this cannot be long.
The body generally is very good for absence of exhaust booms.

Total weight of car with Cabriolet body, 16 gallons of petrol, water, oil, tool kit, ballast, driver & assistant...............................1 ton 17 cwts.

Total average speed during test................... 35.31 M.P.H.
" " petrol consumption................ 18.07 M.P.G.
" " oil "................ 1033.90 M.P.G.

Weather conditions during test have been good, roads dry.

"Dunlop" cord extra heavy wired type, 5 1/4" for 21" rim.
Pressure - Front 30 Lbs. Rear 40 Lbs. per sq. inch.
