With regard to the tests on Springs.

We are sending Mr. Lidsey (one of the chief Experimental Testers) to London to assist in carrying out the tests on springs. He will arrive in London this afternoon with two special sets of front springs.

One pair of front springs will enable 98-NK car to have the same rating of front springs as are fitted to 107-MG. which means that the springs are approximately 25% weaker than those at present fitted.

The other set of springs he will bring with him will be suitable for fitting to 107-MG. car so that it will make the front springing on that car approximately 25% stiffer and will reproduce on that car similar conditions of front springing as we have on the front wheel brake cars you have tried.

We have re-considered the question of changing the springs at the Trials Car Garage and think it would be much more convenient if it was done either at Cricklewood or Lillie Hall. It could be done much more quickly and convenient at a place where there is a Pit and lifting tackle.

We recommend the test on 107-MG could start immediately, by fixing on to that car stiffer springs.

As this is the car which is so well known by the contd:-
