I agree that our standard [crossed out] gear wheels shall be steel castings we ought to have a standard design & a number of good advances by adding say 10/20% on all proportions such as
10", 12", 15 3/8", 20" dia
by a usual proportions width.
When making up a design one of these wheels must be used, any departure [crossed out] requires sanction from higher control.
Use up stock of steel arms & cast iron hubs,
