43730 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} c. to CJ. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/M7. 8. 24. X.9840 X.3730 X.3729. We send herewith N.schs. 1826 and 1829., shewing two designs of an open Sports Touring Car, the former being a boat body and the latter an ordinary phaeton of slight appearance and low lines. We understand that Mr. Hives requires two bodies as quickly as possible, and suggest that he might like to have one of each of these. It is essential that the body be built as lightly as possible, and yet be strong, and we would like to incorporate in them our experience with sheet metal ironing, such as used on the Beaton all-weather (5-G-11) which has held up so well. We therefore suggest that EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} be kept informed of the history of these bodies, so that he may then be able to supply the information concerning these details. Will Derby please supply London with two prints of each drawing, and return the originals to us with our usual prints. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
