Additionally, however, we understand that there would be no difficulty on the manufacturing side in giving us a hollow rolled plate with consequent saving in cost, and at the same time flatten the plates for some three inches at either tip, thereby giving us the desired surface for bedding. We think this type of spring with an "exerciser" to enable the bedding to be made 100% would give us a cheaper and more satisfactory spring than we are at present using.
