SECRET X7350 Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}3/T.4.1.29. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} [Strikethrough]Recd[/Strikethrough] " copy to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} -------------------- 'SS{S. Smith}' I am sure you will agree that it is equally important to get more complete Chassis, so that we can keep up a continuous flow of experiments to get our SS{S. Smith} as good as ever possible. I understand that 20-EX. has the body fitted but not quite finished; I think this should be treated as urgent and got through as rapidly as possible. The fourth, I believe, is waiting for Hypoid Gears. We should not wait for delivery of these from America, we might be let down; we have been up to now. We should prepare an axle with our own standard bevels, this will enable us, not only to get the chassis on the road, but to test the new scheme with our bevels. I think, while you are preparing one axle for the fourth chassis with our standard bevels, you ought to prepare at least another two axles, so that they will be ready for the fifth and sixth chassis.
