To Sft.{Mr Swift} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 47350 c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}8/LG6.12.28. 'SS{S. Smith}' REAR AXLES. We should be glad if you will arrange that the axle rigs are adapted to take the SS.{S. Smith} axle. We have at present two noisy axles of this type and it is very important that we should see whether they can be improved. To enable you to get at the crown wheel adjustment it could be arranged that on the rig a special tube is used which has a window in it so that the spanner can be operated.
