Personal 376 Your Ref. T.14/786. D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} 12th October 1938 Alfred Hobson Esq., Kent County Council, Licences Department, Sessions House, Maidstone. Sir, Many thanks for your letter and enclosure. I much regret your first paragraph. Needless to say, I did not know of this and please accept my sincere sympathy. I have known Mr. Marvin for a great number of years, and he was always most kind. I have filled in the form and have signed it. As you will quite appreciate it is only looking a long way ahead, so that I can get the number plates ready to be fixed. I shall have to apply to you for a Licence for the car and pay somewhere about £38. Delivery of the car will take place some time after Christmas. (31 Dec in fact) Would it be asking you too much to suggest one or two numbers, one of which you could allocate to me for this car, and if I chose the number you could say "Yes". I could then get the number plates made and fixed, then the Licence itself would begin on the 1st January. I hope I am not asking too much or troubling you unduly, but wanting to be registered in Kent and having plenty of time must be my excuse. yrs faithfully [Illegible signature] | ||
