- 2 - conductors from the lamp shall be enclosed in a flexible metallic casing, and this metallic casing shall provide the earthing. The special object of this is when the lamp is carried purely on the body work, which occurs so often nowadays, the earthing is automatically provided instead of being left to the coachbuilder. In this latter case we think the cost of having the adaptor fitted to both sides of the chassis/would probably be appreciably less. as standard As there is every prospect of obtaining two of the Lucas lamps for the price we at present pay for a single Butler, we are still of the opinion that the arrangement proposed in memo E.10/HP.15.7.33 to fit two lamps one on each end of the number plate, that is, have a double tail light always in operation and use the stop light on one side and the other side for a white reversing light is the most desirable arrangement from the point of view of the customer.
