Extra charge for bottom tank etc.
(tank RB.{R. Bowen}3514 - brackets BB.3617/8) - 5/- (as Wraith).

Unfortunately no tool cost for this matrix was mentioned. We are, however, getting Messrs. Marstons to clear up this point.

(5) Cost of dipping Ph.III bottom tank to matrix.

Messrs. Marstons gave the cost of this operation as 1/-.

(6) Balance of 25/30 HP. Radiator Matrix Replacement Orders.

Messrs. Marstons stated that they have 25 matrices (which were returned as part of the 131 matrices sent back some time ago (approx. 8-9 months) for correction of water ways which have the sloping lower corners of the matrices formed as steps instead of straight edges. At the time when these matrices were delivered (2 years ago) Messrs. Marstons were only able to form these corners in this manner, and we built a number of matrices constructed in this way into 25 HP. and Ph.III radiators. We complained about this feature, however, since it meant that it was very difficult to make the bottom tank joint without getting loose solder in the bottom tank. As a result, Messrs. Marstons have developed the method by which a straight sloping edge is obtained as typified by our Ph.III matrices today. The 25 matrices in question have the stepped edges, since they were delivered prior to the adoption of this method and have not been used but put on one side. In view of possibility of loose solder in bottom tank we do not think that, after having waterways rectified, they should be fitted to any radiators until these corners have been converted to the latest type. This can be done at a cost of approx. 30/- per matrix. We recommend that such a conversion be made and the resultant cost be borne by R.R.Ltd. Will Roy.{Sir Henry Royce}, therefore, please issue instructions accordingly immediately, as any delay will hold up the delivery of these matrices which we believe are urgently required for Production.

(7) Oil Coolers - Cancellation of second half of order for 'D' series coolers.

Messrs. Marstons agreed that the order for 220 oil coolers for 'D' series (20 are for replacement etc. for 'C' series) could be reduced to 120 coolers in order to omit the cooler
