Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}

6-Goshawk-11.

I have received your telegram asking if 6-Goshawk-11 can meet CJ. in Paris on June 1st. and I have wired to you that it can if cylinder head is satisfactory when it arrives. Will you therefore send definite instructions to me where the car should be sent to and at what time. I propose to send Bullamore with it as he knows the roads and CJ's requirements. Can you tell us how long the car will be away and whether it will be returned here.

Waldron will return home when Bullamore arrives and if 6-Goshawk-11 will be away a length of time, Archer can return also. When the car has gone we will get away to the mountains as requested.

In reply to the enquiry in your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG22.5.22. regarding the amount of water lost when boiling. I do not think we have ever lost more than 2 gallons at the most. As regards the contact breaker point, I do not think actual misfiring occurred due to this but we cleaned them up when we were investigating the missing due to sticking and leaking valves. The points were very bad however and I do not think they could have gone much longer without missing. It was remarkable that they worked as well as they did considering their condition.

I will write to Wallis to see if he can arrange for a 40/50 to be sent down here to make the comparisons which you think would be useful.

Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}
