PHANTOM FRONT AXLE.
X. 8420 X. 8772 X23

It will be remembered that before the War, when the steering levers were undergoing test, the front axle forging was broken more than once on the bumping rig, usually at the place where the tapering top flange joins the parallel portion.

It would be interesting to us if the experimental reports dealing with these features could be turned up and copies sent to us.

We are not sure of the number of hours run by the different axles, or whether the bumping rig was exactly the same as is now used.
