y6066 E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.7/MA.24.9.35. Re. SPECTRECodename for Phantom III HORN PUSH. We have been examining R.R.Sch.882 and our only criticisms are :- (a) A note should be inserted on the drawing to prevent the inside portion of the steering column control support plate from being enamelled, when the button assembly is inserted. (b) Would not a simple spring ring with the ends inserted on the axis of the button motion be simpler and preferable to the tiny 9BA screws? Otherwise we consider the scheme a distinct improvement over R.R.Sch.875. We should have recommenced the use of gold-silver contacts originally but unfortunately did not have an opportunity of seeing R.R.Sch.875 before it was instructed.
