COMPARISON OF EXHAUST SYSTEMS ON
STANDARD 40/50 HP. ENGINE.
Tests were made to compare the following three exhaust systems on the standard 40/50 engine -
(1) Standard 40/50 system.
(2) West WitteringHenry Royce's home town scheme.
(3) 'Derby' Scheme.
The above systems were used in conjunction with the standard rear silencer and readings taken with cut-out closed and open.
The following is the power output given by each of the above three systems taken under the same conditions.
