Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/EAC.9/ET. 1st May, 1941. Walsall Locks & Car Gear Co, Ltd., Neale Street, WALSALL. Attention of Mr. Cooper. Dear Sirs, Replying to your letter of April 23rd with reference to a reconstructed Everall Lock which we have now received and have had fitted to one of our cars, this has definitely overcome the fault of being able to operate the inside handle and hold the bolt of the lock back, and has removed the main fault. The dropping of the outside handle when the bolt is withdrawn from the inside still remains. While this does not affect the functioning of the lock, it is a bad feature and is very noticeable after the locks have had a certain amount of wear, and we consider that it should receive your attention. We are advising Messrs. Park Ward of the modifications which you have made, and they will undoubtedly be taking the matter up with you, with a view to getting the fault corrected on any locks which they have in stock. Thanking you, Yours faithfully, | ||
