John Marston Ltd. -2- 6th. October, 1938.

With regard to the cost of such checking since the prices quoted by you to us for matrices up to now have included a flow test of each matrix and since this individual flow test will now be discontinued we presume that the cost of testing one matrix in 20 as outlined above, will be born by yourselves.

Will you please also confirm that this is so.

Will you please furnish us with a flow test figure for the Wraith and matrices (as you did for Phantom III and Bentley II - the Phantom III figures will still apply of course) by flow testing half a dozen matrices with waterway ends which have been checked by gauge, without bottom tanks fitted - these half dozen matrices can then have their bottom tanks hand soldered to the blocks and can be used for production orders. The average flow test figures can then be added to the drawing.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
