E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hives, Esq.,
Experimental Department,
Rolls Royce, Ltd.,
Derby.

Dear Sirs,

On the suggestion of Mr. Guy, we are submitting herewith by hand a sample of our Speed No. 1 Motor Spirit, which has a large following in this district, and we hope that you will be able to grant our Mr. Humphrey a few minutes of your time to discuss this matter.

The distillation results obtained show that this spirit is extremely volatile at low temperature and thus promotes easy starting in the coldest weather and effectively prevents any tendency to crankcase dilution and attendant evils.

We are enclosing a copy of an article on the results obtained with Speed Petrol, by some of the general public a short time ago, which may be of interest to you, and would add that we have a number of well satisfied Rolls Royce owners at present running on this spirit.

One of our customers Mrs. Linden of 33, Marlborough Place, N.W.8. has recently purchased a Rolls Royce and is anxious to obtain your opinion on the spirit most suitable for her new car and we would be very much obliged if you would write to her on this subject.

Meanwhile we look forward to the pleasure of hearing from you at your convenience.

Yours faithfully,
SPEEDHIRE SERVICES LTD.
