Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std.7/KW.21.9.34.

Referring to your memo, E.S/HP.13.7.34,
we have taken some figures giving a comparison between bonnet temperatures with (a) bypass and (b) shutter methods of water temperature control, and are sending you same herewith.

In the absence of low air temperatures or any method of producing same, we have calculated the theoretical variation of bonnet air temperature with atmospheric temperature in the case of both bypass and shutter control and are attaching results of same.

By applying the results to the experimental figures given, some idea of the air temperature under the bonnet for any atmospheric temperature is obtainable in the case of each method of control.

Attached also are the bonnet temperatures determined in this manner with an atmospheric temp. of 0º C.
