"CONDOR" STARTER & SWITCH. -------------------- In order to overcome the difficulty which is now experienced of disconnecting the battery when the starter jaws are held in by the drive in the event of the engine failing to start, we wish to try an experiment by which it is possible to completely break the switch even though the jaws are held in full engagement. It is then intended that the switch and jaw clutch should be erected as originally intended, namely, so that the switch is fully on when the jaw clutch is fully engaged. We send herewith a print of "M" Scheme 713 shewing the special connecting rod between the switch and the jaw clutch operating lever, the special crank lever on the switch, and the special pin for the jaw clutch operating lever. Could you please issue the details of this for one experimental set, to be tried by Mr Platford on the first conveniant "Condor" engine. DA. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
