Dear Sirs,

We beg to acknowledge receipt of your kind letter of the 15th inst., together with samples of dural filter elements that have been left in a mixture of benzol and water.

As you say, this test is rather a severe one, but we are inclined to agree that the use of duralumin plates is possibly not advisable, and for the production we will change over to brass plates as you suggest.

However, we have just completed three filter packs as promised for fitting into the three filters given to Mr. Robotham by the writer, but these are in dural. They will, however, be an indication as regards the finish, etc., of the plates themselves, which we think you will be entirely satisfied with, and we do not anticipate that the brass plates for the production will be any different to these samples. We are taking it that they will be satisfactory to you and we are proceeding with the first batch of 50 production filters so that we can see how our production methods go on a larger quantity.

In the meantime we should very much appreciate your remarks regarding this last effort of ours.

Yours faithfully,

BENTON & STONE LTD.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Eric Wilmer.
Director.
