ROY{Sir Henry Royce}/JT. from EFC. EFC1/T17.5.28. WATFORD EW6 MAGNETOS. Further to our EFC2/T7.5.28 and your Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/JT3/HP 5.5.28, with reference to EW6 magneto No.100084, we duly received this magneto returned back from Messrs. North. Attached please find copy of my assistant's report WC.104 which will show you that this magneto is quite up to scratch. Unfortunately we did not ourselves test this magneto before it went away, but have the definite word of the Test Dept. that it certainly did not give its present performance. Messrs. North on the other hand say that the magneto was quite O.K. when received by them. If you propose telling Messrs. North that our impression is that the machine must have been improved, at their end, perhaps it would be better for yourself to get the assurance of the Test Dept. that the performance was improved. With reference to two other EW6 magnetos Nos.107842 and 107858, attached please find copy of an extract from my assistant's report WC.106 from which you will see that these two magnetos also pass our electrical tests satisfactorily.
