Page 2 of a proposal outlining a revised procedure for the standardisation of parts.

Contd:- Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/LS.1/T15.9.37 2.

(4 contd):

(b) when the parts could be introduced without scrap,

(c) whether present commitments could be used as spares, or be made into other pieces,

(d) whether the old or new parts involve any particularly difficult processes.

etc.

(5) As at present constituted, the completed sheet is not, in itself, an authority to standardise the parts.

(6) Owing to the present system of circulating several sheets for the various signatures, the people concerned have no real opportunity of considering and discussing the matter before they initial the sheet.

In view of these objections we attach hereto a print of a proposed revised sheet. The procedure will be for the Engineering Department to fill in all particulars up to the line "AA{D. Abbot-Anderson}" and then to send copies to RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} and Rb.{R. Bowen} for their additions. Completed sheets will then be sent to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} in time for discussion and signature at a Chassis Conference.

We should be glad of your comments on this proposal.

Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/LS.
