CUTOUT
Our cutout is satisfactory. It has to be set in the closed position with the toggle giving the maximum load, or otherwise it rattles when cornering.

IGNITION PLUGS
We have examined the K.L.G. and the LODGE plugs after 6500 miles. Up to the present there is nothing to choose between them. The electrodes are in a very good condition. We have had no missfires upon acceleration or high speeds until we flooded the engine with oil after fitting the new pistons, when one or two miss fires was noticed at speed.

PETROL PUMPS
We will give you more imformation later.

ENGINE FRONT KNOCK
Sorry but in our daily report of the 13/8/33 we stated a knock had developed in the front engine mounting which was cured after oiling. It was again very dry and inclined to squeak when we dismantled it prior to adjusting the damper.

PETROL PIPES
Sorry that I omitted to state the dia. of the bore was .250". The size of the pipes fitted is 5/16. The car was fitted up with 1/4 piping.

PETROL PUMPS
One of the S.U. pumps brought out was faulty in delivery. Upon examining it we found the following:
The diaphragm was set 2 1/2 turns back instead of 3.
Both valves were leaking, one could blow through them fairly easy in the closed position.
The contact arrangement was lopsided and only one point making contact.
We have thoroughly washed the valve chamber out and the valves are allmost O.K.
We are strengthening the return spring slightly to give us an increased supply of petrol ( test of one pump only)
