REPORT OF BREAKING OF O.S. FRAME. 78380 The chassis frame was found broken after 14,831 miles running in France. We noticed after our run up to Paris at a mileage of 12,800 that the front of the body had lifted up. We examined both the chassis frame and the subframe, but could not find the cause, and it was not until we noticed that the back of the body on the O.S. had dropped that we found the frame had broken close to the centre support of O.S. rear road spring. This was after a further 2000 miles. We are of the opinion that it has been caused by the subframe anchorage being supported too far back on the frame and the continuous stress due to the high speeds on the bad roads caused the fracture.
