Analysis of steering performance with controllable dampers and a comparison of steering boxes for 40/50 and 20/25 models.

Rolls-Royce Steering. There is no doubt that with the controllable dampers in the lightest position the steering of 40/50 and 20/25 is adversely affected. We find that the La{L. A. Archer} Salle steering box fits the 20/25 quite nicely and are therefore trying it out. Though rig tests do not show this box to be very irreversible it may actually be better than the worm and nut in this respect as we know that the latter is highly reversible under joggling conditions.
