------------------------------

We send herewith N. sch. 3202. shewing the proposed rear road springs for the Continental Touring Chassis of the 20/25 HP.

The car is lowered .875.ins. solely by a reduction in the movement between the Full Load and Max. Bump Position.

This reduction is based on a proportional basis of Phantom 2. Sports.; P.2. Standard :: 20/25 Sports : 20/25.Standard. We would be very glad to have Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}'s views on this suggestion.

It is not possible to reduce the thickness of the buffer as we have done on our latter modifications for 18.G.IV. as the propeller shaft fouls the 3rd. crossmember.

Even if the front of the car cannot be lowered at all by the use of the stiffer springs, there is no harm in obtaining this lowering of .875. at the back as the frame is now level. The P.2. frame slopes to the rear a lot on the Continental Touring Car.

We should anticipate that the weight of the body will be in the neighbourhood of that of 16.G.IV. so that it will be possible for you to check up the estimated weight which the coachbuilders will supply. If we were able to give the bodies as great attention as we did 18-EX. we might produce a body and etcs. at 7 to 8 cwts.
