STEERING GEAR. In view of the troubles we have encountered with the Bentley and Wraith follower roller, it is clear to me we must not depart from the original Phantom III follower roller mounted on roller bearings until we have made very complete comparative tests which shew beyond doubt that the new ball bearing type of roller is strong enough, particularly in view of the heavy forces which can be met with in fairly ordinary conditions on Phantom III, which have resulted in twisted rocker shafts. I want BY/HEB.{H. Biraben} to at once revert to the original, and BY/SB.{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister} make sure none of the new type are used on repair replacements. BY.{R.W.
