WOODHEAD ROAD SPRINGS.

From previous experience, we are not seriously interested in any road springs which are not drilled and grooved for chassis lubrication.

At the present we have one set of Peregrine springs and some Bensport springs which are drilled and grooved. The Peregrine springs are being sent to France on the next car. This means that we have no drilled and grooved springs which we can run on any bumper chassis. We understood that you had ordered some drilled and grooved 25 HP. springs about 2 months back, but we cannot trace them.

In the meantime we have been testing Woodhead springs, which have no grooves etc, on the Peregrine bumper chassis. The two front springs broke up completely after 30 hours and 38 hours respectively. Although this is a fair life, it is very inferior to the Firth springs under the same conditions. We have run two front Firth's springs for 60 hours with only a failure of a spring clip on each.

We have noted certain differences between the two makes of springs, which we should like to discuss with Woodheads. Will you please arrange for a representative to call on us for this purpose.

We do not intend to use the Woodhead springs until they have been cadmium plated. If you could arrange for Woodheads to cadmium plate their springs it would be more satisfactory.
