The above Owner recently complained of a bad skid when braking and the car was afterwards sent to Kingsbury Service Depot for attention. They found that the front brakes were absolutely out of action due to the toggles having pulled out of the toggle shaft and were found hanging inside the brakes.

New actuating shafts and toggles were fitted but the brakes subsequently jaggered very badly on test and it was decided to change the complete front axle.

The old axle has now been sent to us for examination.

Obviously, the primary cause of the toggles pulling out was a violent brake judder. We know this can happen because we had a similar case some time ago and we believe the toggles were subsequently strengthened up.

The axle is now available for inspection.

As the axle is now urgently required following repair, we shall be glad to know whether inspection of any of the parts is required before dismantling.

Practically the whole of the brake mechanism is badly distorted and the ball ends in the brake actuating levers are loose.
