For the attention of Comdr. Matravers.

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of the 13th, and note your remarks re an improvement of efficiency when the gear has been run in.

We are arranging to have this gear run in on a bench rig when we shall repeat our efficiency tests, and shall probably again do so after the gear has been on the road.

We think that we have not yet had sufficient experience with the gear to justify your seeing us, and we will let you know as soon as we have obtained any further experimental results.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
