Contd. -2- Oy6/G25.5.20. tyres to American standards for the English market, and since the American Company requires to keep abreast with the very rapid development of disc wheels here, we would suggest that a few sample forgings for wheel hubs should be produced in England and two sets at least be sent over here as originally requested by us, so that we can send you a set of American Michelin straight side wheels for test. There is beginning to be a demand for disc wheels here and this will undoubtedly grow. I have already explained to Mr. Johnson and Mr. Parrington in several reports that wire wheels, especially wide ones like ours, are liable to get out against the high curbs. Also, it costs from 50 to $1.00 more for washing a car at any public garage, when wire wheels are fitted, and even Rolls-Royce owners do not like this. We are, therefore, anxious to obtain here and send to you in England, trial sets of the American Michelin wheel. Can we therefore ask you to take this matter up again with Mr. Johnson with a view to releasing two sets of hubs for our use? Oy. | ||
