X.3894 To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}11/LG23.6.20. X.3482. RE MICHELIN DISC WHEELS. X.3894. X.4158 With reference to Mr. Olley's memo, of the 25th ult. Re Michelin Wheels in America. I think we should certainly ask our people in America to send to us for test a set of Michelin Wheels suitable for straight sided tyres. This means they must be Michelin Wheels fitted with a demountable rim. As you'are aware, this is what we asked Michelins to do on this side and they refused to touch it but it is certainly a fact that it is impossible to use a straight sided tyre unless a demountable rim is used. I recommend that we order from America, one set of Michelin disc wheels suitable for straight sided tyres and one set of the dis-steel wheels. You will remember at the last Conference with CJ. he insisted that our ultimate aim should be Disc wheels demountable rims. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
