Dear Sirs,

In reply to your letter of the 8th instant, it is quite possible to roll Stainless Steel in sheets, though we are unable to do it at these Works. Messrs Thomas Firth & Sons we believe, regularly undertake this.

We send you herewith a chart showing you the co-efficient of expansion of our Stainless Steel, but regret that we have not the same information with regard to "Quickstep" Steel.

We have no personal experience of the soldering of Stainless Steel and cannot tell whether it solders really well, though we do know that Stainless knife blades are regularly soldered by cutlers into metal handles.

If there is any further information that we can give you, we shall be only too happy to do so.

Yours truly,
BROWN BAYLEY'S STEEL WORKS, LD
